About Me

Hey! Thanks for taking the time to visit my blog :)

I'm Alisha - I have a BSc. in Honours Health Studies from the University of Waterloo, and have been working in clinical research running trials in orthopedic trauma surgery since graduating in 2011. I'm a health and fitness enthusiast, a runner, a triathlete and soon-to-be a Masters student at McMaster University.

I started writing my blog simply wanting to share my story. I've struggled with self-image and my weight for a long time, but I'm finally getting to the point of being more comfortable with myself. I feel good about what I eat these days, and I have a new passion for lifting that I hope will help me reach my goals. I eat and workout in a way that works for me, and this changes based on what I'm trying to achieve. I treat myself when I feel like it, and I try to not to impose strict rules on myself. My idea of being balanced also means being HAPPY!

With a very busy schedule, I'm hoping to show other people that you can eat clean, train dirty and take care of yourself with a busy schedule!

In this blog I'm going to document some of my tips and tricks with staying balanced, post recipes, provide feedback on different workout programs and give the world anyone reading a peek into my daily life!

You can find my views on clean eats here, and are always welcome to email me with questions at alishahak89@gmail.com.

Three random facts:
 1. I love running in the winter!
 2. Lee (my wonderful boyfriend) took me to NYC for my 23rd birthday/our 1 year anniversary! We saw these signs everywhere and I thought it was hilarious. Does "standing" mean "parking" in NY?
 3. I think snakes are cool.

In summary, this is my view on life:
